Meet Yvon & JC, high school sweethearts who have been by each other’s side for 11 years! JC finally proposed on their 10-year anniversary, on a romantic gondola ride up Sulfur Mountain in Banff, Alberta. We walked into the bridal suite at Bahia Principe Punta Cana into an explosion of excitement and colour – I just love all the bright yellows! These two have been blessed with some amazing friends – one of the biggest bridal parties we’ve had. After the clever ‘first look’ on resort grounds we headed over to their Catholic ceremony at Nuestra Señora del Pilar, a beautitiful church in Punta Cana village (it’s far from what you’d think a village would be, more like an outdoor mall). It’s the first time we photographed a ceremony there and it was absolutely stunning, especially the surrounding courtyard! Both the ceremony and the reception were masterfully planned & decorated by Mayte of Jellyfish Restaurant. Seeing her work (and work ethic) is amazing – I’m so excited to be her bride in just a few short weeks!
Yvon & JC, wishing you all the happiness & joy you can handle! Here’s the day through our eyes!
A unique take on the ‘first look’ – Yvon & JC didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony AND we had very little time for portraits after the ceremony… so Rob & I came up with a way for them to ‘meet’ and exchange gifts. Their bridal party really got a kick out of it, too!

Moving on to the cocktail hour & reception at the beautiful Jellyfish Restaurant, our favourite venue EVER! (Rob & I are getting married here next month!)
