Jessica & Steve met at work – at Bailey’s Irish Cream (yes, the drink!) in Dublin, Ireland. They fell in love quickly after a casual drink following an overtime shift… Steve chose one of the most romantic places in the whole world to propose to Jessica – under the Arc de Triumphe in Paris. How amazing is that? They traveled all over Europe together before settling in Ontario, Canada… When we asked, ‘how is your life different because of Jess,’ Steve says … ‘Well, I live in a country I never even intended on visiting, I’m going to college when I never intended to, in a course I previously had no interest in; there is basically nothing in my life that’s the same as it was before and I wouldn’t change a second of it.’
We exchanged many emails with Jess and I dared to ask her if they would be up for meeting us for their Rock the Dress (trash the dress) session at sunrise. It’s our absolute favourite time to shoot (although getting up early isn’t easy, ever!) and is always sooooo worth it. It was still dawn when their cab dropped Jessica & Steve off at the entrance to Cap Cana. We picked them up and took them to Farallon cliffs for just a few minutes, just to see the view. In the first few images, it’s about 6 am – quiet … and truly magical. Next was Cap Cana Fishing Lodge – our favourite location for portraits! It was a perfect setting for them, given that Fishing Lodge has such a European flavour.
Jess & Steve, your story is so inspiring… we had a blast with you! And thank you for the wine! xoxo
This magical pool will soon open as Buddha Bar… we are patiently waiting! Hope it lives up to the name.
It’s never too early for Prosecco.
In the chapel courtyard. The soft morning light is amazing.
