Stephanie & Chris worked together at a Boston Pizza and were friends for a while before they started dating. Stephanie recalls, ‘I had a crush on Chris, who had a girlfriend at the time, so I just had to patiently wait for him. There was never an established time where we decided we were ‘together,’ we just all of a sudden were together, and fell in love fast.’
Proposal? Quite the story! Of course Stephanie had no idea any of this was about to happen… Chris called Stephanie at work telling her he’d cut his hand while unloading the dishwasher and needed stitches. ‘I kind of thought he was being a little dramatic and told him he was probably fine.’ This news came about 3 hours before they were supposed to be on the red-eye flight to Toronto for a holiday! Stephanie rushed home (with treats for him) to find poor Chris with 7 stitches in his hand. ‘He told me he cut his hand when the wine glasses fell from the cabinet, not from emptying the dishwasher; Chris then poured us each a glass of wine, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised, speechless and crying, that he had to ask me again to get a big fat YES!’
We had a chance to hang out with and get to know Chris & Steph before their wedding in picturesque town of Banff, Alberta this past summer. How cool that we would reunite in Punta Cana with their favourite people! Stephanie & Chris have a special talent for making people feel special. They are so sweet, loving, loyal, and completely devoted.
Here’s their perfect destination wedding at Melia Tropical Punta Cana resort, complete with happy tears, lots of laughter, and even a horse carriage! From our hearts to yours, xoxo K+R.
A letter from her Beloved before she walks down the aisle. ‘Stephanie, waking up next to you every day is the greatest gift.’
‘I love Chris’s silly sense of humor, his unwavering loyalty to those he loves, and his sexy dimples.’
‘I love that Stephanie is so to the point. Her love for my family and hers, and her drive and motivation is something I really look up to.’
‘Just hearing Stephanie’s voice can cheer up my whole entire day.’
Here’s a flashback to our downtown Banff engagement session last summer, with a horse carriage!
Once again, a horse carriage on their wedding day… 🙂 Stephanie pointed out the similarity! 🙂
‘Chris keeps me grounded when I get carried away, he is most usually my voice of reason, he’s become my absolute best friend in the world. We know absolutely everything about each other and always have a great time together no matter what.’
‘Chris knows when to give me advice, when to step back and listen and just be my rock.’
‘I wouldn’t be who I am today without Stephanie, she has always been there for me. We’ve been together so long now, we’d almost be considered high school sweethearts if we went to the same school!’
