macao beach wedding elopement. {kathleen + andrew}

May 27, 2013

Here is a stunning couple, Kathleen & Andrew, and their magical intimate Macao Beach Punta Cana elopement.

They met in college in Michigan and were part of the same social circle. Although it wasn’t an instant connection, they eventually realized that the reason they often butted heads was fuelled by an unspoken attraction. Kathleen recalls, ‘as time went on we realized we had more in common than we thought and I got to see him for who he was instead of what I thought him to be… he was and is amazing!’

Andrew proposed atop the highest mountain in the city of San Diego. ‘When we reached the top, I was trying to regain my strength and mentally prepare to go back down, when Andrew took out his phone and started recording me. I was a little annoyed that he was recording me because I was sweaty and felt unattractive after hiking for over 2 hours!’ He wrapped up his beautiful speech with ‘I wouldn’t want to hike a mountain with anyone but you and I wouldn’t want to spend my life with anyone but you,’ at which point Kathleen turned to find Andrew down on one knee… The hike down was a breeze. 🙂

Kathleen & Andrew were excited to elope, so they could enjoy their stress-free wedding and spend quiet quality time together in paradise… Here are some of our favourite portraits from this incredible morning… Special thanks to Pastor Rick York for this heartfelt, polished, perfect ceremony!

Three things Andrew loves about Kathleen: ‘her smile, concerns for the rights of people and her strength.’

Three things Kathleen loves about Andrew:  ‘his heart, love for family, and masculinity.’

As you can imagine, I hear all kinds of romance stories from my brides – but the story of a gift Andrew had once given Kathleen totally blew my socks off. It was a home spa day. But wait, he didn’t just spoil her to some aromatherapy rub – Andrew did lots of research and made all the treatments from scratch, infused with love. Among his creations were a ginger oil bath with orange peels, ginger/lemon face steam, and an oatmeal face scrub, followed by a luxurious back massage. Gentlemen, take notes!

‘Kathleen is irresistible in general … but I love her confident walk in high heels and her décolleté.’

A well-deserved Presidente, baby.

‘For me, Andrew’s smile is to die for…’

‘Being able to create memories with Kathleen is the greatest gift I cherish.’

Kathleen & Andrew, we are SO absolutely honoured to have shared this remarkable memory of your wedding day with you – cheers to new friends!! Also, we’ll always think of you when we hear Corrine Bailey… xoxoxo
