on breathlessness. [honestly].

October 26, 2010

Every time I’ve sat down to blog in the past two weeks since coming back from Mexico, I found myself so frustrated with the amount of stuff I want to share, that I left it for yet another day. And another day. And another.

I shot the last wedding of the season on the first Saturday of October, and since then have gone into full HIBERNATION MODE. Complete with mini-panic attacks, late nights, late mornings, to-do lists, wine and yoga. My fingertips seem to type and process still moments behind my eyelids even while I sleep… and there is still no end to it.

We wedding photographers need and want everyone to think we have it all together. Yet there are days when I feel like I’m about to crumble under the weight of my own expectations, doubts … and those endless to-do lists. And then there are other days, when my cheeks hurt from smiling because I’m so hopeful and full of love.

I woke up today and saw snow outside the window. I lingered in bed, nostalgic for warm days, adventures, and summer memories. I’m not going to slow down, but I promise myself I will take more time to breathe. Because today I felt as if I inhaled somewhere in February and only started to exhale sometime in the now.

Here are a few images waiting on my desktop. I promise to share more soon…

with so much love,
