Meet Holly & Joe! Or, HOJO / Jolly – we didn’t come up with those nicknames, but find them to be positively awesome 🙂
You can tell a lot by looking at a one’s friends. Just the same way, you can tell a lot by a couple’s bridal party. On their wedding day, Holly & Joe were surrounded by one of the most fun, easy-going, and life-loving group of friends & family. From the moment I walked into Holly’s Hard Rock Punta Cana bridal suite, I was blown away by the atmosphere – music, eating, hugging, champagne, gifts, hugs, laughter … even ‘Gangnam style’ moves. The whole day carried a high note of sheer joy, even despite the downpour following the ceremony, which forced us into a ballroom for the reception.
Holly & Joe met when Joe came home from college to his dad’s auto body shop (where Holly worked for Enterprise Rent-a-Car). Holly recalls, ‘after a few failed attempts to ask me out, a fellow coworker suggested I ask him out since he was about to give up. I did and our first date was spent with his friends and family at a dive bar. Once we left, we stayed out late getting to know each other.’ That night, they shared their first kiss in the parking lot… it was love at first date!
The proposal was so unique and memorable. From Holly’s words, ‘Joe and I played hangman when we first met six years ago – as a way to flirt with each other. This past January, Joe began another game of hangman. This particular game lasted four rounds throughout the span of the day. The first round began in the morning with a card taped to the bathroom mirror, alluding to the exciting day ahead. The second round took me to work where I anxiously awaited the third. It arrived at the end of the day and led me to Joe at Millennium Park, downtown Chicago, where it was gently snowing. The final clue read _ _ _ _ _ _. After a few wrong choices, I finally guessed “SAY YES.” As soon as I said the words, Joe got down on one knee and proposed to me. It was the most exciting moment of our lives! We celebrated with a bottle of champagne and a nice Italian dinner. After dinner, Joe surprised me again by taking me to Pops Champagne Bar, where my family was waiting to celebrate. The night was perfect.’
Here’s their dream wedding, from our heart to yours!

I’ve never before gotten into the picture with the girls… they made me feel so special! (and there’s our little famous boombox) 🙂

Holly & Joe are big music lovers and had incorporated records of some of their favourite bands as centrepieces. So cool!
The next day, we meet before the sun comes up, to celebrate their love with a Rock The Dress (trash the dress) session at sunrise.
And … magic.
We got rained out of their intended Eden Pool reception the night before, so we brought the party there the next morning!
Holly & Joe – you’re so kind, warm, fun … so easy to adore and be around. Can’t wait to come visit you in Chicago (and show you around your Ukrainian neighbourhood!)
