Vancouver Gastown Wedding. Leah & Andrew.

November 22, 2010

According to Rob, these two win the ‘couple most excited to get married’ award. And I wouldn’t disagree. (Surely, there are a ton of other equally awesome awards). I couldn’t have wished for a better getting-ready location to shoot my beautiful bride and her girls! Andrew & Leah’s gastown apartment is amazing. I kept whispering to Rob that I would love to find a home or studio with a similar feel (but maybe a loft, too)…

The day was incredible… I love that they chose to see each other before the ceremony, thus making the day longer and more memorable. This is one of my favourites… Leah is just about to come downstairs to their Gastown courtyard to see Andrew for the first time in her wedding gown.Quick snapshot back to Andrew and the boys, there’s no shortage of goofiness.Steps away from their Westin Bayshore wedding suite, the boys are flaunting their handsomeness. And now, the First Look! We couldn’t have planned it better. I was so anxious for Leah’s entrance to be picture-perfect…Their Gastown neighborhood is a playground of textures and light, we didn’t have to step any further than these character alleys! On our way to their District 319 reception, crowds of strangers smiled ear to ear and shouted ‘congratulations’…

Leah & Andrew, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having us there with you and letting us document your beautiful Vancouver wedding. You are amazing and we look forward to more memories!

Catering by Two Chefs and a Table I’ve tried recreating the delicious truffle mac & cheese recipe from, but it’s just not the same 🙂

Leah rocked a stunning Reem Acra wedding gown, fitted to perfection by a talented Vancouver designer Malene Grotrian.

Last but not least, the beautiful and bubbly Katherine from Vancouver’s Lounge Hair Studio dolled the girls up.

Stunning work. So many gorgeous shots here. The one of her putting on her shoe is simply brilliant and the final BW looks like it came out of LIfe magazine.

Katya and Rob: Thank YOU from the bottom of our hearts, for giving us the most amazing memories – both of you shine as individuals and as a couple, and it comes out in your pictures. We will cherish the most special moment that you gave us (The First Look) for as long as we live.

The only sad part is that a wedding is but one day, and that we don’t get to continue working with you on a regular basis. But, that would be greedy as you two have so much warmth and love that you must be shared! I have every confidence that your business will grow and grow, as everything you do is genuine and from your heart. Thank you.
