These high school sweethearts have actually known each other since elementary school. Taylor was the one with the crush to start, but it didn’t take long for Scott to fall madly in love with her, after one of Taylor’s close friends gave him a ‘push’ to make a move! After eight years of growing up together, supporting each other unconditionally, learning how to love each other more and more deeply, and making many beautiful memories … the proposal came. Scott worked hard to impress his precious girl!! Taylor tells it best: “He knocked on our door (to throw me off) and when I answered it, he told me to go sit on the couch and close my eyes. After what seemed like hours of me sitting there while he shuffled around, he told me I could open my eyes. I opened my eyes to our apartment filled with tea lights. He handed me a photo album filled with dozens of pictures of us through the years together. At the end of the album, he had scrapbooked “Will you marry me?” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!” Oh, and you know what else? Scott also got takeout from their favourite Italian restaurant & champagne, as well as candles and bath soaps he had hidden behind the kitchen counter. Wow.
Taylor is an Elementary School teacher and Scott – a firefighter. I mention this not only because I think that’s super admirable, but also because as human beings, they are both paragons of virtue, kindness and compassionate mindfulness in everything they do. The beauty of their relationship and their love & patience for those around them is striking and inspiring. I just adore them as people, can you tell?
Their beautiful wedding took place at Now Larimar Punta Cana, one of our favourite resorts. This was a wedding with an intimate wedding with many emotional moments, a very touching ‘first look,’ delicious dinner and a wild party on the beach dancefloor.
Congrats Taylor & Scott… Keep amplifying and complementing each other’s lives and come back to Punta Cana to visit us, por favor!
* Huge thank you to my great friend Mike of MichaelD Photography for shooting the wedding with me and Now Larimar’s wedding planner, Silvia, for the silky smooth day!
