Lindsay & Marko met at a house party during the summer after high school graduation. Thanks to Marko’s chivalry they connected immediately – he noticed Lindsay didn’t want to sit on the patio furniture so as not to dirty her new white capri pants … and brought a towel out for her. That summer, they were inseparable.
Their relationship was strong enough to sustain 4 years of college, 100 miles apart! During this time Marko would drive to pick Lindsay up and then take her all the way back to his college so that she could watch his soccer games! They were a team from the very start.
Over the 10 years they had been together, Lindsay & Marko’s love grew and they continued to support each other’s dreams in an incredible way… They bought a home together and became loving parents to Luna, an adorable miniature pincher. ‘With all honesty, I thought we would never get married and would live a life together like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, which I had come to accept and appreciate,’ Lindsay laughed.
The proposal came as an emotional surprise – at a time when she least expected it. Their house had been flooded and after months of negotiations with their condo board and painful contractor bills, they were finally back home for Valentine’s Day. A strict ‘no gifts’ policy meant they would celebrate only by cooking dinner together. Lindsay gave him a card, wrinkled from being in her handbag on this moving day … ‘Marko told me that he got me a little something and gave me a small wrapped box with a bow. I expected to see a funky costume ring and there was my diamond. When I saw it, I blacked out and was on the verge of fainting. All I remember about the moment is gripping the back of my chair at the dinner table and saying “what is happening to me?” There are no words to explain how stunned I was with surprise. After I came to grips with reality, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes and the rest has been history.’
Now Larimar Punta Cana resort hosted their intimate beach wedding. Everything was just like they had imagined it! My favourite part of the day was spending time with Lindsay & Marko and their bridal party on the beach – beautiful, beautiful people.
‘I love Marko’s sense of humor and quick wit… he is always making me laugh! I love his constant devotion to our relationship and his need to protect me.’
Marko & his boys. On the far right, Marko’s dad – a legend with many stories to tell. Joe Raduka was a famous soccer player and at one time, lived in & played soccer for our hometown, Edmonton! He now runs a premier youth soccer organization in Cleveland, Ohio, of which Marko is proudly a Director and Coach. Marko’s mom says living in Edmonton was the best time of their lives…

‘Lindsay has taught me patience and compassion for people. With her in my life, I am more focused in my professional life and affectionate in our personal lives.’
The summer they just started dating, on one of the last dates before heading back to school, Marko took Lindsay to watch the sunset at Lake Erie. ‘We walked back to the car and he pulled a big teddy bear out of the trunk with a ring tied around its neck. Ahh…young love… I slept with it every night.’ Lindsay still has the teddy and the ring has been upgraded!
