majestic colonial punta cana wedding. naomi + ryan.

March 4, 2011

One phone call from Naomi … and I knew there was nowhere in the world I would rather be than at her wedding in Punta Cana, DR. I’m lucky she didn’t ask me for my firstborn child, I think I would have promised that too! Making their wedding involved some pretty tight jet-setting, but we made it work. Shooting in LA to Punta Cana, from Punta Cana to WPPI conference in Vegas. I didn’t mind losing track of airports.

Their wedding was amazing. Not just because they are outrageously fun and gorgeous people, but also because they truly made me feel like family. From curing my walnut-size mosquito bites to letting me veg out on one of their prized floaties in the pool.

The week went by so fast, I only hope that the images and memories that I’ve captured will make them smile for years to come. With just a few minutes to spare before heading out to the ceremony…Weddings on the beach are fun to watch. I get it! But this one couple was so adorable. They just stood and stood there… So I slowly turned 180 and snapped this one…And then, at the requests of the wedding party… The inspiration to grow old together! For this one, I did lay down on the dirty floor of the beach buffet. Romantic, right? I really love this image…I drool when I find juicy pools of light like this. It was so hot we were melting… but being back in snowy cold Edmonton, it doesn’t seem so bad.Hallways aren’t to be overlooked either… Naomi is so stunning!Majestic Colonial Resort grounds are gorgeous! And so are Naomi’s shoes!!There was this amazing structure in the corner, minding its own business, bathing in this gorgeous setting sun. Love, love.Love.Dominican Republic & Presidente beer are synonymous…. Cheers!Aaaah, finally. Beach. Sunset.Beach. Away from everything. Beach volleyball is kind of a big deal for these two… For this one, I got Naomi to hold the reflector at her waist…A couple of hours later, steak & lobster dinner… I was in lobster heaven. Four lobster tails. True story.Wet bar, Majestic Colonial…Down low… up high… Score!!What happens in the pool, stays in the pool… Except for the photographer!!!view portfolio |   let’s connect on facebook & twitter |   email us
