jennie & andy. los angeles wedding {with lawrence chan photography}

June 16, 2011

Packing up and flying to LA to photograph a wedding with my friend and extraordinary guru of the wedding industry, Lawrence Chan of Tofurious… I was beyond excited and honored. It would be a chance to catch up while weaving through LA traffic to the Tron soundtrack; to make a great new friend, Kiera Faye of Jakfoto Productions; and witness four wedding ceremonies in one day at Jennie & Andy’s Los Angeles Mercury Skydeck Wilshire wedding.

Receiving the bride at her house with gifts and a traditional vietnamese tea ceremony…

After the bride’s next dress change, a fun-filled party bus ride to a catholic wedding ceremony…

Stunning rooftop reception at the Mercury Sky Deck (3810 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90010) Here, Jennie & Andy exchanged heartfelt vows in the middle of a pool!

The skyline of Los Angeles was a real treat for me… So beautiful!

This lady?! Stole a piece of my heart. I almost wanted to come up to her and make a wish even more than to stuff one of those delicious bruschetta hor’devours in my mouth… I wonder if the wish would come true! 🙂

Here comes my date. Mmmmmmm… I told Kiera that I was so excited about this crab I wanted to name it. Lawrence always jokes about my weakness for crustaceans – one degree of separation from true vegetarianism! Ahhhh, it was so worth it!

The forth ceremony of the day was traditional Korean Paebaek, where chestnuts were thrown at the newlyweds by the parents – the number caught by the couple symbolizes the number of children they will have! Jennie & Andy’s competitive team spirit landed them at least 8 chestnuts from what I could see… Let’s see how they will live up to the legend!

Check out the awesome FUSION VIDEO Kiera created! I’m so grateful for this chance meeting with Kiera… because… we’ve invited her to do video at our Punta Cana wedding next April!! Thanks Lawrence!!
