Erin & James met at the Keg Steakhouse in Kelowna, BC … James was already working there when Erin, the gorgeous and assertive bombshell that she is, got a job there as a bartender. Let’s just say, James spent a lot of time at the bar before and after work! ‘He made it pretty clear he was the man for me,’ Erin smiles, ‘it took me a while, but I finally realized he was right!’
Over the last 9 years their love has evolved into a powerful companionship and an unbreakable bond, reinforced by lighthearted playfulness and wild passion. These guys really know what it’s all about!
Rob & I spent one unforgettable evening hanging out with these two in Kelowna last summer: we were visiting our dear friend Ian, who happens to have a gorgeous house with a pool. James & Erin joined our spontaneous bbq get-together with friends and we had a BLAST. It was as if we’d been friends forever. I’m not sure it was the most professional way to get to know our ‘future clients’ (especially since champagne, vodka, and late night conversations about evolution of consciousness were involved, hehe!) … but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Their Jellyfish Wedding was absolutely perfect. Erin & James were one of the last lucky couples to have their wedding done by Mayte. She masterfully incorporated the element of dreamcatchers that was really meaningful to them, among many other amazing details!
Hope you feel the love in the images below…

Top three things Erin loves about James: ‘his kind heart, old soul, and his laugh.’
Top three things James loves about Erin: ‘her humour, her cooking, and … she’s a SUPER babe!’
Lacy is the newest addition to the Nova team! Isn’t she a cutie?! At this wedding, she discovers that our reflector can double as a fan. This makes Erin very happy. 🙂
Erin’s guilty pleasure: ‘jumping out around corners to scare the sit out of James any chance I get’ Hehe.
James’ guilty pleasure: ‘anything and everything to do with food!’
Ideal day together: ‘camping by the water with our dogs and NO cell service!’
James proposed on a roadtrip back from holidays in Victoria, BC. ‘We pulled over at the very southern tip of the Island, to take our dog Bentley to the ocean. James got down on one knee by the water and proposed!’ Ironically, Erin caught the bouquet at a wedding they went to the night before!!
Most romantic memory together: ‘Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We rented a Jeep and drove through a few back road towns, stopping to explore along the way. We arrived at Todos Santos as the sun was setting and found the infamous Hotel California. James & I walked onto the secluded patio and there was not a soul in sight! There we had one of the most romantic dinners to finish off the day.’ Amazing.
Erin’s favourite things to find in the fridge: ‘pickles, hot sauce, and cheese strings.’
James’ favourite things to find in the fridge: ‘my baby’s cooking … love it!’
‘I love that James can build anything. Also, he makes everyone love him on the first visit (especially the oldies!)’
‘I love Erin’s kitchen dance moves!’
First dance song: ‘Heaven’ by Boyce Avenue & Megan Nicole.
I LOVE this. A couple of days after their Jellyfish wedding, Erin & James were getting back from a booze cruise and noticed us taking portraits of another wedding on the Jellyfish beach, so they surprised me by rushing over to smooch my sweaty cheeks! You can sort of see the perplexed wedding party behind them. 🙂
Erin & James, you’ve got yourselves two lifelong friends – and we’re not going anywhere! (Well, except to Kelowna to visit you!)
LOVE LOVE LOVE, K+R
