fishing lodge. {cap cana, dominican republic}

Cap Cana’s Fishing Lodge is located in the heart of Punta Cana’s Cap Cana development, within 15 minutes of the airport. It houses two restaurants, three bars, four pools, a ‘Dominican-style wedding chapel,’ and the top-ranked golf course in the Caribbean (Punta Espada Golf Club). At the moment, it’s still somewhat of a ghost town (which is such a treat for us photographers), but there’s no doubt the Fishing Lodge is to become one of the hottest Caribbean getaways. As for weddings, this is a dream-come-true, a fairytale. There is even a waterfront amphitheater! Nowhere else have I seen views like this. So much color, character and style.

Rob & I now live just a 10-minute drive away from the Fishing Lodge and just recently spent an afternoon there. We went for a long walk along the waterfront and the property’s Mediterranean-inspired ‘piazzas,’ had lunch at the Bistrot restaurant (the food was so good I only managed to take a picture of our lobster bisque) and finished off lounging around the main pool.

We are yet to photograph a wedding here, but I’ll be posting an engagement session photographed here soon. For now, here’s something to feast your eyes on!

The terrace of Bistrot restaurant, there’s Rob waiting for his ice-cold Presidente…

The views are phenomenal and the venue is intimate despite the vastness of the ‘neighbourhood.’ Pool-side AND ocean-front all at once!

The beautiful chapel at Fishing Lodge Cap Cana, conveniently located right across from the Bistrot restaurant.

Cap Cana chapel courtyard – perfect for pictures … doesn’t this look like a charming European – Mediterranean town?!

Inside the chapel…

Short walk to the main pool…

View of the Bistrot restaurant…

Lastly, a hidden pool we discovered on the way back to the reception. Seriously… somebody get me a bride!

    WOW! This is a beautiful location! How I wish I knew about this piece of paradise before I started planning my wedding. I still lucked out though since I’m getting married at the Jellyfish, but this place is not as popular and would have been PERFECTION!

    Hi! We want to book our wedding at Sanctuary Cap Cana but we are having trouble contacting them. Have you shot a wedding there recently? Also, what are your wedding package pricing for photography? Looking forward to hearing back from you!!
