Here’s a very special engagement session, celebrating Flaxee & Tye. I must confess, Flaxee had me at ‘hello’ – from our very first email exchange I could feel her excitement, warmth, love, and vibrant spirit. (Flaxee, you had Rob excited to photograph your wedding too – at the mention of how much you love dirtbiking!) Haha.

They first met a few years back at Christian Camp in Sylvan Lake, but it wasn’t until they started chatting online that they felt the connection was worth exploring… That’s when Tye learnt that Flaxee’s entire family used to race cross country in Crowsnest Pass. It dawned on him that if perhaps if he went out and bought a dirtbike, he could have a reason to hang out with this magical girl that’s been on his mind. Zingggg!! I love the way Flaxee describes their falling in love: “we basically fell into each other’s hearts and it’s safe to say about two weeks before we started dating we knew we were going to marry each other.”

Tye & Flaxee have big beautiful dreams that they treat with such tenderness and respect… especially each other’s dreams, among which are creative musical pursuits, fulfilling travels, and mission work. I’ll tell you more about these two inspiring lovebirds in September, after we document their amazing wedding!! For now, here are my faves from our Whyte Ave adventure.

Finishing up at Whyte Avenue’s beloved Dadeo’s (10548 Whyte Avenue  Edmonton, T6E 2A4)

Flaxee & Tye – do you feel the love?! There’s more where that came from! xoxo

Amazing work Katya! 🙂 Every picture of yours makes me feel like I am watching a video of each couple. There has been many times where I have felt that taking a picture in a moment can take away from the experience, but with your work it almost makes me feel as if I was there watching the interaction…

That is the highest compliment I can give you 🙂 Glad you are doing what you are passionate about and makes you happy…it really shows in your work.
